The elves used furs for their first clothing, but soon found wool to be far more adaptable. Organized sheep farming grew quickly in Middle Earth from the earliest eras. Wool was used the most in cold areas, such as the northlands and mountain passes, where its warmth was of great value. The clothes which the Fellowship wore going out of Rivendell were made of wool. Its hardness and its dark black color made Lebethron highly prized by the woodwrights of Gondor. Their art was raised to its height in the city of Minas Tirith, whose houses were all decorated by grand and beautiful woodcarvings. However, Lebethron was not only used for decorative carvings, but also for other purposes. Two well known uses of Lebethron are the staves which Faramir gave to Frodo and Sam, and the casket which held the Crown of Gondor during the time of the Stewards. #GOOD_Wheat ^ ^ ^[Wheat] is a $LINK that enhances city production. Our modern elephants are but memories of the girth and majesty of this beast. Oliphaunts were indigenous to the great southern plains of Middle Earth. The size of these beasts made them very useful to the peoples of Middle Earth. However, they possessed an obstinate temper which made them very difficult to domesticate. Provided the beast could be controlled, its great size made it very useful in warfare. Its only vulnerable point it’s eyes; the sting of blindness would often drive an Oliphaunt made, but only excellent archers could hit such a mark.
