HARLAN'S RESOURCE IMAGES

					By Harlan Thompson

I didn't like the small size of resource images in Civ3. So I've made them all larger, and added quite a few new ones for mods. Virtually all the graphics come from searching the web. Several were made by Nordicus for a CTP resource mod. Note that because these resources are all larger, it may be harder to see what's behind them, especially the mines. So you may want to use a larger mine image.

Install all the files into your Civ3/Art/Civilopedia/Icons/Resources folder, except the files called resources.pcx and resources_shadow.pcx, which belong in the Civ3/Art folder. Make sure to back up the files you will be overwriting, if you want to revert to them again.

The Civilopedia entry images have a background of blue for basic resources, red for strategic resources, and tan for luxury resources. Given the limitations on adding strategic and luxury resources in the game, I've given all but two of the new resources the blue background (the exceptions are Copper and Timber which have red). If you want to change their backgrounds, I've included some blank files to help with that, but make sure to save in .pcx with the proper color palatte.

As of patch 1.21, there seems to be a maximum of 36 resources allowed in the game, so any below the sixth row that you like you'll have to move up. The extra space below that is simply ignored by the game.

Here are the new ones, in order:

Timber
Copper
Seal
Walrus
Crab
Salt
Wool
Fruit
Oasis
Clay
Marble
Sugar
Tobacco
Coffee
Silver
Gems (the original Gems files are actually called Diamond, and may be better for that)
Tin
Rice
Opium
Offshore Oil (having strategic resource Oil in the sea causes problems, but this could be a separate bonus resource)
Cotton
Glass
Amber
Lead
Papyrus
Linen / Flax
Tea
Jade
